Background
Jordi Kleinloog completed his Bachelors and Masters of Science at Maastricht University (the Netherlands) in Biomedical Sciences in 2013 - 2017. Thereafter, he completed his PhD at the department of Nutrition and Movement Sciences at Maastricht University. His PhD research focussed on the effects of a healthy lifestyle – consisting of a healthy diet combined with increased physical activity levels – on cerebral blood flow and the relation with cognitive impairment. Cerebral blood flow was assessed using the non-invasive gold standard MRI Arterial Spin Labeling (ASL). Jordi is currently a postdoc in the Radiotherapy department of the UMC Utrecht and the Computational Imaging Group under the supervision of Alessandro Sbrizzi. During his postdoc he works within the MR-STAT project that facilitates multiple quantitative MR parameters in one fast single scan. It is propelling MRI one-step further in the future of tissue classification by fueling big data algorithms and AI-enabled integrated diagnostic solutions. Within this project Jordi is involved in the implementation and clinical research of this imaging method.
