Background
Ray Sheombarsing is a postdoctoral researcher at the Radiotherapy Department of the University Medical Center Utrecht, working within the Computational Imaging Group. He earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Mathematics, both with cum laude honors, at VU University Amsterdam. Subsequently, Ray pursued research at the same university, focusing on validated numerics and dynamical systems theory, culminating in a successful defense of his PhD dissertation titled “Validated Chebyshev-based Computations for Ordinary and Partial Differential Equations” in April 2018.

Currently, Ray is a member of the Spectro-Dynamics group led by Alessandro Sbrizzi. His research primarily focuses on extracting dynamical information, such as deformation and velocity fields, directly from raw MRI measurements in the (spatial) frequency domain.
