Background
Jelmer van Lune obtained his bachelor’s and master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence at the University of Groningen. His master’s thesis project was conducted in collaboration with the University Medical Center Groningen and focused on the generation of synthetic colonoscopy images containing polyps using deep learning.

Since September 2024, Jelmer works as a PhD student in the Computational Imaging Group under the supervision of Nico van den Berg, Alessandro Sbrizzi and Stefano Mandija. The aim of the project is to boost the performance of AI applications in gliomas and meningiomas by standardizing brain MRI using physics-informed neural networks.
