Max van Riel received his bachelor’s (2018) and master’s (2020) degrees in Biomedical Engineering from Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). During his master, he enrolled in the Medical Imaging track, a collaboration between Eindhoven and the UMC Utrecht. As a student intern, he worked on a free-breathing abdominal MR fingerprinting implementation at the Center of Biomedical Imaging in New York under supervision of Martijn Cloos. For his master’s thesis, he performed explorative research on Spectro-Dynamic MRI, which is a method to identify in vivo dynamical systems using MRI data in the spectral domain. He is currently a PhD student in the Computational Imaging group of the UMC Utrecht under supervision of Alessandro Sbrizzi and Nico van den Berg, where he is working on the further development of Spectro-Dynamic MRI.
